Welcome to Milford High School!

Greetings To All Milford School Community Members and Milford Citizens:

Welcome to Milford High School! I am honored to serve as the leader of this incredible school and to work with an extremely talented and devoted faculty to preserve the traditions, values and pride associated with MHS while creating many new opportunities for all students. Together, we will work to expand and enhance the school profile and ensure that all students are afforded opportunities and access to challenging courses, extra-curricular activities, athletics, student leadership activities, internships and many other artistic, social and civic endeavors.

The 2011-2012 school year promises to be another exciting year for Milford High School. We are excited to embark on the creation of our long anticipated MHS “Pathways” program that will provide support, credit-recovery and mentoring for At-Risk MHS students. This program was designed to reduce the dropout rate at MHS and to ensure that we provide “pro-active” interventions and support for all students so that they can become more successful students and citizens. We are also pleased that our teachers have created several more elective classes for students, including three new Advanced Placement offerings: AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics and AP Psychology. We are excited that students have chosen to accept the challenge of our new AP courses that have only strengthened the entire Program of Studies and MHS school profile. MHS faculty members have been working and training year round participating in workshops, seminars, DESE focus groups and AP training sessions to ensure that MHS students continue to thrive academically, artistically and civically in our school community. This year we will also continue examining different types of master schedules so that we can ensure the most possible opportunities for all students at Milford High School.

I look forward to hearing from all community members on matters concerning Milford High School and to work together to create more opportunities for Milford High School students. I will use the Principal’s Page as a springboard for MHS dialogue and to showcase the outstanding work of Milford High teachers, students and community members as we strive to enrich the lives of our most precious commodity: OUR STUDENTS. Please feel free to contact me via the email link below or at (508) 478-1110 ext. 2123. My email is mtempesta@milfordma.com

Best regards,
